Biancheria, which means linen in Italian, was born out of a
desire to carry on a family tradition which started several generations
before me in a small town in Italy. My ancestors were
weavers and seamstresses who expertly crafted fine linens.
The custom then was to take pride in your linens. Brides were
prepared for marriage with a hope chest, stocked with a supply
of fine linens. They were typically taught to embroider and
do crewel work by local nuns and the quality of her workmanship
was an indication of how well she would keep house.
Today, while many of the old customs seem impractical, there
is no reason to sacrifice the quality of fine linens. We offer personalized
service, and unique, rare and custom heirloom linens
for bride and baby. In-home consultations may be arranged as
well as fung shui consulting. 100% organic products are also
available. Let us work with you to create truly comfortable and
healthy surroundings in your home.
